Paving

Good paving is as much about what you don't see as what you do. Proper base preparation, accurate falls and tight joints are what separate a paving job that lasts from one that moves and weeds within a couple of years.

We treat base preparation as seriously as the finish. Before a single paver is laid, the site is excavated, levelled, compacted and checked for drainage fall — because no amount of quality stone compensates for a base that wasn't done properly.

We work with a range of materials to suit the aesthetic and budget of each project. Travertine remains the most popular choice across Perth's western suburbs for its natural variation and how it performs underfoot in the heat. We'll guide you through material options and show you samples in person before any work begins.

FAQ

Travertine has a naturally porous surface structure that reflects more heat than dense concrete or porcelain. In direct Perth sun this can make a noticeable difference to barefoot comfort — particularly around pool areas.
The most common cause is an inadequate base — either insufficient depth, poor compaction or a base that wasn't suited to the soil conditions. Drainage issues that allow water to pool underneath are the second most common cause. We address both in our preparation process.
Sealing protects travertine and natural stone from staining and makes ongoing cleaning easier. We recommend sealing on completion and typically every two to three years after that, depending on material and exposure.
A standard courtyard of around 40–60 square metres typically takes two to three days, including preparation, laying and grouting. We'll give you a clear timeline at quote stage.
Often yes, depending on how old the existing paving is and whether the same material is still available. Bring us a sample or photo and we'll advise on what's achievable. Natural stone varies batch to batch, so we're honest about what can and can't be matched closely.
