Our approach

We also restore existing decks. Most decks that look worn or weathered can be brought back without a full replacement. We assess the boards, framing and fixings honestly and give you a clear recommendation before any work begins.

    We look at the space or your existing deck, checking framing, boards and fixings, and talk through timber options.

    Clear proposal

    A written proposal with timber choices, rates and timing, or an honest restore-versus-replace recommendation.

    Build or restore

    Footings, framing and boards for a new deck, or sanding, repairs and re-fixing for a restoration.

  4. 04

    Oil & handover

    Oiling or sealing, a full clean-up, and advice on when to re-oil to keep it looking its best.

If the framing and joists are structurally sound, restoration is almost always the better option — significantly cheaper than replacement and far less disruptive. We assess the substructure on every job before recommending a path forward.
A standard residential deck typically takes one to two days for sanding and preparation, then requires drying time before the oil or stain is applied. We'll give you a clear timeline at quote stage based on the size and condition of your deck.
Timber looks and feels warmer, ages naturally and can be sanded and re-oiled over its lifetime. Composite requires less ongoing maintenance but retains more heat underfoot — worth considering for north-facing decks in Perth. We'll help you weigh up both options for your specific situation.
